This summer I started taking riding lessons and have absolutely fallen in love with it. I ride three times a week (English) and I have to say, I think yoga has been my saving grace! If you have stiffness, tightness, tension or soreness in your body, this class will help you work through it which in turn will benefit your riding.
This is a 20 minute yoga class suitable for beginners and all levels. No previous yoga experience is necessary and even if you aren’t an equestrian, you’ll probably love the way this stretch feels!
These are the stretches I usually do when I get home from my lesson. They will work a lot on your inner thighs, quads, ankles and lower back but of course we will also get a few stretches in for our back and shoulders. It’s a well rounded simple practice that any equestrian can benefit from, no matter how experienced or flexible you might be!

Nice one, great to focus on equestrian related poses. I noticed since I started doing Yoga my core has strengthend and I am able to keep a better posture on the horse..

I too am an equestrian athlete and i have really noticed the improvement in my riding and my horses love it when im supple as they can carry their own weight in balance rather than having to do all the work for both of us! Thank you Kassandra from my horses here in New Zealand 🦄
I enjoyed this one so much! I do a lot cardio on the elliptical and it targeted all the right areas. But I would have liked a short Savasana at the end, maybe a laying spinal twist before this also.

First time on the matt, fell on skates and fractured my ribs. Only starting to do more movement. This was perfect. I’ll look for more stretch videos. For now, no downward or up facing dogs. Twist are good. Lower body , good. But nothing that bears weight onmy arms.

I would love more classes targeted at equestrisns please. As a horse trainer i do find i get extremely tight, stiff and sore in the hip flexors and lower back. Thankyou so much.
Should it be different if you are doing this before you ride? Maybe you could have a pre and post riding?
