Hi everyone, thanks for joining me. I decided to bring my blocks out today and use them to help us get a bit creative on the mat and explore traditional poses in a different way. This is a fun dynamic yoga class suitable for intermediate students who want to switch things up a bit and make use of their yoga props.
Grab two blocks and meet me on the mat with an open heart and open mind! This class will help you gain strength physically and mentally while also giving you lots of great stretching breaks.
Lately I’ve been focusing a lot on the concept of choosing curiosity over judgement and expectation. When things get tough or when you step out of your comfort zone, can you be curious about the experience rather than judgmental about it? Regardless of the end result! Now THAT’S a spiritual practice! Enjoy xx

Love it! Side plank on a block in tree pose was a challenging but fun one. I don‘t think I will ever be able to lift my legs (the pose after reversed table). I was happy that I could hold my butt lifted 😁 Thank you Kassandra ❤️🤗
That’s excellent! It’s hard to get something for everyone in a class so it’s great to have poses that can be built on depending where you are at in your practice.
This was a fun change. Enjoyed using blocks in a new way. It cleared my head of clutter too!
Just what I had hoped!
Great class. Nice to do something outside of thr box. Couldnt do all of the poses but adapted them to what I could do. Only challenge I found is that I have a cork mat so the blocks started sliding in downward dog so I had to move them to the carpet.
Are your blocks foam? I would say try to get cork blocks too if that’s an option for you and you want to do more practices like that but yes taking them just off the front of the mat works too

Wow! This was an interesting practice. The side plank variety of the tree pose took me by surprise, the second side went better. Definitly will repeat this class.

It’s fun to get creative
I struggled with this a little but will keep practicing. Having dispraxia really did pose a problem with me, pardon the pun, but my determination is stronger so i will keep trying. Im pleased i tried it. Thank you Kassandra 💜
This is certainly one of those keep trying practices. Even if the poses seem normal, the blocks add so much

I was hesitant on tree pose side on right side but was able to do it on the left side – so it is possible. Once you announced fish pose, I said out loud “oh yes!” I am really finding a love for supported fish pose! Thank you for curiosity over judgement. ❤️❤️❤️
There is something about supported fish pose. So many love and hates with it, but it’s wonderful when you find the surrender in it
I always live a good flow with blocks, so this class excited before I even started. Love the challenges of the class too. Tree pose is one of my favorites, so combining it with side plank was awesome…never thought of that combo. Great class, thanks!

Very creative flow, Kassandra! And I found the side planks with tree pose challenging, also doing the twists with the blocks in chair pose. Surprising how different the poses feel with blocks. Definitely will do this one again!

This was great! I love how the blocks bing so much more stability into the triangle pose but also so much more challenge into the chair pose or the boat pose. I would really love to see more of these classes <3
They have so many purposes!!
Ooof that was challenging but I loved the different “feels” that the blocks brought. I think I went into shock when I could actually get into Vrksasana in a sidey!

Thank you Kassandra, although I found this very challenging, I enjoyed it! My biggest issue was with my blocks. I have very small hands and grabbing the blocks was hard. Also, they seemed very slippery – do you have any recommendations on blocks?
Do you have cork or foam? They also come in smaller widths, or you can turn them up to the thinner side.
They are cork, but inexpensive ones and about 5.5 by 9 better light though 1.5 lbs. Do you have a specific brand of blocks you like?

Thank you for this practice! It had a sense of playful energy that I very much need more of in my life. I struggled to keep my weight out of my wrist in the side plank/tree pose though – any tips?
Try to claw into the fingertips and think about lifting up the middle part of your palm like a cup so you’re focusing throughout. Also push into it and lift the hips, to make sure you’re not slumping

This was such fun! I avoided this class long thinking it might be too much in the morning – nonsense! Ot was just perfect way to start the day with a whlole new mindset and body feeling great 😊
