Hey everyone, I’m so excited to share this fun and challenging power yoga class with you today! This is a 35 minute yoga class working on the niyama of tapas which is about austerity, discipline and determination.
Tapas is about building heat in the body as a form of purification. For this class, we’ll be holding poses for a bit longer than you might be used to as a way to generate that heat and challenge ourselves physically and mentally. This is a great class to help you work through mental and emotional blocks and challenges.
The yamas and niyamas come from the 8 limbs of yoga as outlined by the sage Patanjali. If you’d like to learn more about this, try my Yama & Niyama online course: https://bit.ly/ywkyama
Rest assured there will be plenty of stretchy breaks throughout so that you can find your rhythm and care for yourself. It’s an intermediate full body yoga class with no props required.

Great class. Loved it
Definitely a challenge for me to hold a few of the poses. I had a lft wrist fracture 10 months ago. My lft side still hasn’t regained all strength back
If your wrist is still causing problems and pain, try doing side plank on that side on your forearm as well. You can use a block under the arm for extra height too

Due to the various connents I could not wait until tomorrow in order to do this practice as part of the nonthly calendar😁 Such an awesome class in all ways. As I am doing Kundalini yoga regularly and have a weekly bones building yoga class I am used to held positions longer. It is so great for the mind and the body (calming and challenging). Yes, please more of it. But I also love your minimal cues practices, vin to yin classes, yin yoga morning and evening and of course your morning yoga practices……🤗❤️

Maybe at times a bit boring in some poses but a wonderful practice and LOVE your connections between yoga poses and real life challenges ❤️

I’ve now done this two days in a row! I LOVE IT! 😍 I’m a huge fan of yin and long holds, but always love a good vinyasa flow that strengthens—this mixes both! It’s meditative AND strengthening. I loved this class! While holding the poses for longer was definitely a challenge, I also found it relaxing in a way – easier to focus and turn inward. I’d love to see more classes like this 💕

Dear Kassandra, this is a wonderful class – I really loved it! I like holding the poses for longer and concentrating on the posture and the sensations that come up when going deeper into the pose. This is really great and because it is slow, I was even able to go through this class with some bruised ribs. It is easy to adjust to very slow transitions. Please more of those strengthening 30 min classes. Thanks so much 🙂

I’m a new member this week but not new to yoga. The yoga I have been doing is mostly gentle. I didn’t know if I was going to be able to do this but wanted to give it a try. I want to get more strength training in my practice. Yes it was challenging but if it wasn’t then it wouldn’t be beneficial. There was only one pose i couldn’t do,the modified chair pose so j did the traditional pose. That was enough for me. This is going in my favourites.

It was challenging for sure, but I remembered what you said about this helping to mentally prepare us for other challenges. The deep breathing helped. Loved it. Felt so good at the end!

Wow! Really tried to stay in the thoughts of how am I when things are challenging. Oft times it gets intense, sometimes complain, also focus on the countdown for breaths. This was a challenge!

Great set of yoga positions! Definitely worth making more of those. I have been practising mainly 15 min morning yoga for the last 2-3 years, but I was still able to do most of the exercises here. Feeling good!
