This is a 30 minute Pilates practice, which can be performed through all trimesters of pregnancy. This class is a bit more active though, so if you have not done Pilates prior, please proceed with caution.
In this class Amy will take you through exercises to support you through pregnancy, as well as in birth, and even after for carrying and feeding your newborn. We will work the full body including pelvis, glutes, hips, shoulders, arms, and core.
While core work that compresses the abdomen is contraindicated, there are many ways for Pilates to help you stabilize the core to find more comfort in carrying baby to term. Turning the area between ribs and hips on, and ‘hugging baby in’ during the movements we work through here
Please make sure you speak with your healthcare provider before diving into Pilates during pregnancy. If you experience any pain or discomfort, take a rest or end the practice early.
