Hey everyone, thank you for tuning in. I wanted to do this informal “coffee chat” style vlog to talk to you about something you may or may not have experienced in yoga before.. the emotional release.
In this chat we’ll go over what an emotional release is, how it can manifest and what you should do if it happens to you. An
Have you ever cried while in a yoga pose or burst into laughter or become really angry? If so you’re not alone. This is commonly called an emotional release, let’s talk about it. You might have heard me say before, especially in a yin yoga class, that releasing physical tension from our bodies allows us to also release emotional, mental and spiritual tension as well. This is my way of explaining the emotional release.
Thank you Kassandra 🙏🏼 So many important points are in this video
Thank you for taking the time to discuss this important topic. Wonderful insight to help navigate thr different emotions that may come up during practice and finding comfort in knowing that it is ok if emotions surafce and it’s ok if they don’t. ❤️❤️
Wonderful message!! Thank you for this video!
Love this style of video as a complement to all your amazing yoga classes. So informative and helpful, and I really love hearing you share your thoughts! You’re so well-spoken and really have a grounded, relatable perspective. I loved the TikToks you did a while back sharing info about affirmations and shadow work, the paths of yoga, etc., and this feels in that same vein. Thank you!
Oh amazing! Thank you. So glad they are enjoyable and helpful
Thank you so much 💓 This actually happened to me about two hours ago. I was doing the water vin to yin class, and as soon as you transitioned to the yin, I just started sobbing. It was fine; I’ve been working through some deep stuff with my therapist’s help lately, and it felt needed (and thematically appropriate, even). One thing I noticed though: my body has been very tense, very stiff lately, and as I was crying, I could feel all of my muscles open up, like I was melting into the poses in a way I hadn’t been able to do for a few months. It was like the physical release and emotional release were feeding each other, not just the physical leading to the emotional. Is that normal? I
We hold so much of our tension in our bodies! Emotional 100 leads to physical, and then releasing physically opens us to release emotionally. Glad you are working through in yoga as well as with your therapist!
Thankyou so much 🙏
Thank you, have had many emotional releases on the mat and in class. I lost my Dad in April, and Yoga helps me with my grief. X
Oh thank you for sharing 💗💗💗
Thank you Kassandra…thanks for sharing and talking about all these elements of yoga. You’re just my favourite teacher 🙏
Happy belated birthday! Mine is Oct 5 and got to be on tour in Seouk and JejuKorea

Thank you for this coffee chat, Kassandra! 💗
That was perfect timing. Thank you. I just understood wharüt happened to me recently and how to deal with it.
Thank you for this talk. When i started yoga many many years ago, i had just lost my mother. After every class i was either crying or angry. The release that comes from yoga is gift…not always easy to unwrap, but its good for you.
💜
