Hey yogis, this week’s class is one that has been requested so many times over the years! I’ve put off making it simply because lotus pose isn’t always safe for many people’s knees. No matter how advanced in your practice you may be, some poses might simply not feel good and that’s okay! If you’d like to try this flow for yourself, please do so very mindfully. For some, lotus pose feels great and puts no strain on the knees. For others, it’s painful and detrimental to their practice. Let’s always make sure we do things because they FEEL GOOD rather than because they LOOK GOOD. Okay, moving on from that disclaimer… This pose will focus on deep hip openers, especially external hip rotation to prepare you for lotus. We’ll start with a stronger standing series before settling into some seated hip openers. I would say it is an intermediate to advanced practice. I hope you enjoy it!
