Overview

You have got your pyjamas on, you have completed your night time self care/hygiene rituals and you are ready to climb in bed but wait, your body is still storing aches and pains from the day. Taking care of your muscles and joints is just as important as taking care of your skin and teeth in preparing for a good nights rest! Dont worry if youve already made your way to the bedroom, the following 10-minute sequence can be done right on the edge of your bed. These are stretches you can do before crawling under the sheets every night to rid your body of tension, and take care of aches and pains in your neck, shoulders, and hips. When you are done, you can tuck yourself in feeling comfortable and ready for some quality shut eye. Poses that we will work through include: Neck rolls Shoulder rolls Elbow rolls Wrist rolls Side body bend Eagle arms Cat/cow Ankle rolls Seated pigeon Passive forward fold Focus and Benefits Set your intention Take a moment before you begin to set an intention for your practice. This can absolutely be as obvious as to fall asleep quickly and to stay that way throughout the night. Less is more Nowhere else and no other time is this statement truer than when prepping for sleep. Keep this in mind as you complete these stretches, there is no need to do anything complicated.
